چکیده

Recently, Djurovic and Pâquet (1996) claimed to have found an oscillation with a period of about 5.5 years in several solar and solar-terrestrial parameters, in particular in solar activity as indicated by sunspot numbers. Since the temporal evolution of solar activity and solar-terrestrial environment is of great interest in many fields, we have examined their claim in detail. We show here that their conclusion is based on an artefact due a questionable method applied, and due to the asymmetric form of the solar cycle. Accordingly, there is no reasonable evidence for the existence of a fundamental 5.5-year periodicity in solar activity.

A Study on the Development of the New Theater Field in Iran and the Growth and Activity of Lalehzar Theaters (Focusing on the Iranian Theater between 1300 and the coup d’etat of 1332 Solar Year Based on the Views of Pierre Bourdieu)

The dialectic between the position of power field and its impact on Iranian theater field over 1300-1332 Solar year (1921-1953) caused fundamental changes in the production and consumption process of Iranian theater through making changes in the actors’ talents and using this talent in production and consumption of various fields of play, influencing production groups, hall owners, and audience...

Magneto-Rossby Waves and Seismology of Solar Interior

Eleven-year Schwabe cycle in solar activity is not yet fully understood despite of its almost two century discovery. It is generally interpreted as owing to some sort of magnetic dynamo operating below or inside the convection zone. The magnetic field strength in the dynamo layer may determine the importance of the tachocline in the model which is responsible for the cyclic magnetic field, but ...

Variability of F2-layer peak characteristics at low latitude in Argentina for high and low solar activity and comparison with the IRI-2016 model

This work presents the study of the variability of foF2 and hmF2 at a low latitude station in South America (Tucumán, 26.9°S, 294.6°E; magnetic latitude 15.5°S, Argentina). Ground based ionosonde measurements obtained during different seasonal and solar activity conditions (a year of low solar activity, 2009 and one of high solar activity, 2016) are considered in order to compare the ionospheri...

ارزیابی عملکرد شبکۀ عصبی مصنوعی در پیش‌بینی تابش خورشیدی روزانۀ کشور ایران

Iran has an average of 5.5 KWh per square meter solar radiation and 300 sunny days per year on 90% of the land. Regarding this amount of solar radiation and the necessity for solar potential zoning for better efficiencies, drawing solar potential maps is essential. In this study, the monthly data of 39 synoptic of Iran meteorological stations over years (1991-2000) has been used as the input da...

The 13.5-day periodicity in the Sun, solar wind, and geomagnetic activity: The last three solar cycles

We make a detailed analysis of the 13.5-day periodicity of the solar chromosphere, the nearEarth solar wind, interplanetary magnetic field and geomagnetic activity during the last three solar cycles. The 13.5-day periodicity is a real quasi-periodicity whose amplitude varies sizably with time, attaining occasionally values larger than, for example, the amplitude of the 27-day periodicity. In ca...
